Rattlesnake Vaccine On Sale Now!

Vaccination is safer than antivenom treatment.

Rattlesnake vaccination can reduce the overall effects of a snakebite.  Vaccinated dogs experience less pain and a reduced risk of permanent injury. The vaccine can reduce or eliminate the need for antivenom treatment and decrease other treatment costs as well.

We at Tri City East Veterinary Hospital recommend rattlesnake vaccine for hunting or hiking dogs, as well as dogs that live in rattlesnake infested areas.

Initially you pet will receive two vaccines 3-4 weeks apart.  Subsequent booster doses are recommended annually in the Spring.

Remember even after you dog is vaccinated against rattlesnake venom, he/she should be taken to a veterinarian for evaluation for care as soon as possible following a snakebite.  Even bites by non-venomous snakes can lead to serious infections and antibiotic treatment may be needed.
